Chicago Bears running back Matt Forte is expected to play on Monday night against the Dallas Cowboys, according to reports.

After missing last week's game, Chicago Bears running back Matt Forte will play on Monday night against the Dallas Cowboys, according to Jay Glazer of FOX Sports. Michael Bush got the start at running back against the St. Louis Rams, but the Bears' primary option appears to be back.

Forte played well in the team's season opener, accumulating 120 total yards and a touchdown, but he suffered a high ankle injury during the team's Week 2 loss to the Green Bay Packers. He's sat out since then, although the 26-year-old could be leaned on heavily against Dallas if the passing game continues to sputter.

During Forte's first three seasons in the league, the running back didn't miss a single game, but he's now missed time in consecutive seasons. One has to hope that the running back can avoid the dreaded "injury-prone" label, particularly after the team just signed him to a long-term deal.
