After a late rally by the Chicago Blackhawks, which saw Marian Hossa score the tying goal with just 58 seconds remaining in the third period to force overtime, the Blackhawks were given a taste of their own medicine, as Todd Bertuzzi netted the game-winning goal with just 39 seconds remaining in overtime to give the Detroit Red Wings the 3-2 (OT) win.
The goal from Bertuzzi, which was assisted by Valtteri Filppulas and Nicklas Lidstrom, was the second goal of the game for the veteran RW. Bertuzzi has now found the back of the net eight times this season. With the victory, the Red Wings now trail the Blackhawks by just one point in the Central Division standings. Although he didn't score, Pavel Datsyuk was excellent, dishing out two assists in the victory.

The second period was much better for the Hawks against the Red Wings. They applied a lot more pressure which resulted in more scoring chances. Jimmy Howard was tough in goal for the second straight period, but the Hawks were able to light the lamp.
Andrew Shaw scored his third goal of the season thanks in part to a strange turnover by Detroit. Nick Leddy got the assist on Shaw's goal. Corey Crawford continued his hot play in net in the second period. Crawford has 27 saves through the second period. Jimmy Howard has 10 saves for the Red Wings.
The Hawks gained the momentum in the second quarter, but need to keep the play going in the second quarter if they are going to earn a point or two against their rivals from Detroit. Should be an entertaining third period.
