After losing narrowly in ten innings on Wednesday night, the White Sox will turn to Mark Buehrle to see if he can grab his 10th win of the season and guide the team to a series victory over the O's in Baltimore.
Buehrle, 9-5 with a 3.04 ERA and 1.22 WHIP, will also be looking for his 18th consecutive start allowing three runs or fewer. In his last start, against Minnesota, he threw 8.0 innings, giving up three runs (none earned) on four hits and no walks. In his last game against Baltimore, he earned the win after throwing 6.2 shutout innings, giving up eight hits and four walks, while striking out four. This year, Nick Markakis is 2-for-4 against Buehrle, while Mark Reynolds is 1-for-3 with a double.

White Sox Now Just One Game Out Of Second Place
Mark Buehrle earned his tenth victory of the season on Wednesday night as the Sox jumped all over Chris Tillman and the Baltimore Orioles for a series win at Camden Yards.
Buehrle’s start, three earned runs on six hits over 8.0 innings pitched, while striking out six, was also his eighteenth consecutive quality start. Though the White Sox gave him more than enough run support over the course of the game, he was set for the victory by the time the top of the first inning ended.
In that half inning, the Sox jumped all over Chris Tillman, putting up five hits before a single out was recorded. Those hits included a two run homer by Alexei Ramirez, his twelfth of the season, and doubles by both Carlos Quentin and A.J. Pierzynski. Even Adam Dunn got in on the action by working a walk to keep the inning alive.
The Sox extended their lead to 6-0 in the top of the third, as Juan Pierre followed an Adam Dunn walk and Brent Morel single with a ground ball single that cleared the bases. This chased Chris Tillman from the game for good.
The O’s would mount a small comeback in the bottom of the third, as Nolan Reimold hit a one out ground rule double. With two outs, he was then driven home by J.J. Hardy, who himself scored on a Nick Markakis home run to right field, making the score 6-3.
But Buehrle and the Sox pen shut down the Baltimore offense from that point on, giving up no more runs and just three hits over the next six innings. Sergio Santos recorded his 25th save of the season in the win.
The White Sox return to Chicago on Friday and will open a three game set against the Royals. First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 P.M., CDT.
