The Chicago Cubs Thursday have traded outfielder Kosuke Fukudome to the Cleveland Indians for two minor league prospects.
Fukudome signed with the Cubs in 2007 and this season is hitting .273 with three homeruns. In his Cubs career, Fukudome hit .268 in his 513 games for the Cubs.
The Indians in return have sent the Cubs Minor leaguers Abner Abreu (OF) and pitcher Carlton Smith.
To fill Fukudome’s roster spot, the Cubs have recalled Tyler Colvin from Triple-A Iowa.
