Sox Go For 18th Straight Interleague Series Win

One of the best stories in baseball this season is the emergence of Philip Humber. Humber before this season had been with three different organizations and never made more than eight appearances and had won a total of two games. This season Humber is making a strong case to make the AL All-Star team.

Humber will take the ball for the Sox Sunday looking to go at least seven innings for the seventh consecutive start. This hasn't been done by a White Sox Starter since Jon Garland in the 2007 season. This season Humber is 7-3 with a 2.90 ERA.  While Humber was with the Mets in 2006-07, the righty did face the Nationals twice allowing five runs in five innings of work.

Veteran Livan Hernandez gets the start for Washington in the series finale. Hernandez is just 4-8 on the season but has a respectable ERA of 3.97. Livan has struggled on the road all season. The righty is 0-6 in his eight road starts this season.  Hernandez has started against the Sox three times in his career. In those previous starts he is 1-2 with an ERA of 6.88.

The forecast in Chicago at the time of first pitch is partly cloudy skies with temps in the 70's. First pitch is scheduled for 1:10 CST. The game will be televised on WGN.
