Cubs Look To End Successful Homestand With Series Win

The Cubs and Yankees are two of the most popular franchises in all of sports. Both have nationwide fan bases and diehard fans who will stick with their team through both good and bad. With how entertaining this series has been this weekend, it's a shame the two teams don't face off more often.

Randy Wells (1-1, 5.63 ERA) will get the start Sunday looking to keep the Yankee bats quiet.  The Yankees lead all of baseball with 103 homeruns, but have yet to hit one at Wrigley this weekend.  Cubs pitchers have held the prolific Yankee lineup to just five runs combined in the first two games of the series. This will be the first time Wells has faced the Yankees.

The Yankees will send their ace CC Sabathia to the mound in the series finale. Sabathia is 8-4 on the season with a 3.28 ERA. The big lefty has dominated interleague play in his career, but hasn't faired quite as well against the Cubs. Sabathia is just 1-2 with a 5.76 ERA in his previous four starts against the Cubs. This will be his second start at Wrigley Field. Alfonso Soriano. Reed Johnson, and Aramis Ramirezhave all hit Sabathia hard in their careers.

The forecast at the time of first pitch is temps near 80 with a slight chance of storms. First pitch is scheduled for 7:00 CST. The game can be seen on ESPN.
