Casey Coleman will take to the mound this afternoon at Wrigley to try to avert a three game sweep by the Colorado Rockies. Coleman, whose only win this season came against the Rockies at Coors Field, will try to repeat his recent success against the hot hitting Colorado lineup.
Coleman has had a bit of a rough time since filling in for Randy Wells in the Cubs rotation. On the season, Coleman is 1-1 with a 7.43 ERA and 2.03 WHIP. His only good start came in Colorado, where he went 5.2 innings and held the Rockies to one run on four hits. In that game, Dexter Fowler and Seth Smith both went 1-for-2 off of him with two doubles, while Troy Tulowitzki had a triple.
Going for Colorado will be Jhoulys Chacin. Chacin has been dominant this year, going 3-1 with a 2.67 ERA and 1.26 WHIP. When he last faced the Cubs this season, he threw a complete game shutout while striking out seven. The only Cub to have any type of success against him was Aramis Ramirez, who went 3-for-4 with a double.
The weather in Chicago is forecast to be cloudy and rainy, with a high in the mid-50s. Weather permitting, first pitch will be at 1:20 P.M., CDT, and the game will be televised on CSN.
