James Russell Battles Rain And Padres In Second Start

After a thrilling 1-0 victory in extra innings, the Cubs will once again take on the San Diego Padres at Wrigley Field. If the weather cooperates. Temperatures in the Chicago area are currently in the high-30s and the area has been blanketed by clouds and intermittent rain showers. More rain, and thunderstorms, are expected during the evening, throwing the status of the game into question.

Should the game take place, the Cubs will send James Russell to the mound for his second ever major league start. In his first start, at Houston, Russell lasted just 1.2 innings while managing to give up five runs (four earned) on seven hits. He'll look to improve on that on Tuesday night, with the Cubs bullpen needing him to eat innings at the very least.

The Padres will turn to Dustin Moseley on Tuesday evening. Moseley, in his first year with San Diego, is currently 0-3 despite having only a 1.83 ERA and 1.27 WHIP. Just as James Russell has no career experience against the Padres, Moseley has no career experience against the Cubs.

Tonight's first pitch, weather permitting, will be at 7:05 P.M., CDT. The game will be televised on CSN+ and 4 San Diego.
