Chicago Blackhawks Vs. Minnesota Wild: Blackhawks Trade Potulny To Senators

Stay connected for news and updates

The Blackhawks have won five of their last six games and hope to extend that nice little streak when they face the Wild in Minnesota tonight.

In advance of the game, and just before today's 2 p.m. CST NHL trade deadline, the Blackhawks sent Ryan Potulny and a second-round draft pick to the Ottawa Senators for defenseman Chris Campoli and a conditional seventh-round pick, all of this according to tweets from Jesse Rogers of ESPN 1000, and confirmed at Canadian sports network TSN's TradeCenter.

Campoli, 26, is in his sixth NHL season; he began with the New York Islanders and was traded to the Senators at the trade deadline two years ago. In 58 games this year he has 11 goals, 14 assists and 34 penalty minutes. General Manager Stan Bowman was supposedly looking for defensive help; hopefully, this will give the Blackhawks that help.

This is the fourth and final meeting between the Blackhawks and Wild during the regular season; the Hawks have won two of the first three showdowns, including a 3-1 victory on Feb. 16 at the United Center.

Tonight's game begins at 7 p.m. CST -- no local TV, it's on Versus.
