Valentine's Day Sports TV Schedule: College Basketball Doubleheader

Here's the deal. You're not supposed to be watching TV sports tonight -- it's Valentine's Day. You're supposed to be taking your sweetheart out to dinner, having a romantic evening... our local sports teams got the message, as they all have the day off -- including the Northwestern men's and women's teams. If you don't have a current romantic interest, or you're just not interested in this holiday, you can stay home and watch a couple of Top 25 college basketball teams in action.

6 p.m., NBA-TV: Spurs at Nets.

6 p.m., ESPN: College basketball, West Virginia at No. 13 Syracuse.

7 p.m., Versus: NHL, Capitals at Coyotes.

7:30 p.m., CSN Chicago: Comcast SportsNet Sports Awards. An athlete from each of our pro teams is being honored for contributions to their teams and to the community: Gordon Beckham (White Sox), Marlon Byrd (Cubs), Taj Gibson (Bulls), Israel Idonije (Bears), Duncan Keith (Blackhawks) and Sean Johnson (Fire). Steve Dahl is the MC. (No, really.)

8 p.m., ESPN: College basketball, No. 2 Kansas at Kansas State. It's possible that the Jayhawks will be No. 1 when the new poll comes out later today, after Ohio State's loss to Wisconsin over the weekend.
