NCAA Basketball: Notre Dame Topples Sacred Heart At Home

Jack Cooley helped Notre Dame reach 8-5 on Monday with a win over Sacred Heart.

Five Notre Dame scorers reached double-figures as the Fighting Irish cruised to a 106-65 win over Sacred Heart in South Bend on Monday. The Irish out-scored the Pioneers by 30 in the second to coast to an easy win thanks to some extra hot shooting. For the game, the Irish finished 35-for-57 from the field, good for 61.4% from the floor. The win improves Notre Dame to 8-5, with every win coming at home. Sacred Heart falls to 6-7 with the loss.

Junior forward Jack Cooley led Notre Dame with 19 points on 7-of-7 shooting. Cooley also added eight rebounds and three blocks. Jerian Grant (15 points) and Eric Atkins (13 points) also helped pace the Irish's offense. Junior guard Joey Brooks came off the bench to score 12, while sophomore wing Alex Dragicevech finished with 12 points and five rebounds.

Sacred Heart's Shane Gibson led all scorers with 22 points.
