NIU is trying to secure a spot in the MAC championship game.

The Northern Illinois Huskies (7-3, 6-1 MAC) host the Eastern Michigan Eagles (6-5, 4-3 MAC) on Friday with a Mid-American Conference division title on the line. At 6-1 in MAC play, the Huskies are tied with Toledo but own the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Rockets, so it's win and in for NIU.

The Huskies have been involved in several nailbiters over the last month; in fact, they've won three of their last four games by three points or less. NIU's offense is the MAC's best, but their defense ranks 11th in the league, and that's made for some high scoring, back-and-forth affairs. Eastern Michigan may provide a bit of a breather for NIU's defense--they're 11th in the MAC in total offense--but they do have the edge on the defensive side.
