Eastern Illinois knocked off Northern Illinois 67-55 to drop the Huskies to 0-4 on the year
Northern Illinois (0-4) struggled to hit shots on Sunday afternoon and lost to the visiting Eastern Illinois Panthers (2-1), 67-55. Abdel Nader led the way for NIU with 11 points on 4-13 shooting. Marquavese Ford and Tim Toler each scored nine points for the Huskies.
NIU was down just two points at halftime and were tied with the Panthers with a little under eight minutes remaining, but EIU closed out the game on a 20-8 run. The Huskies were just 8-29 from the field in the second half. EIU wasn't much better, but the Panthers took much better care of the basketball and finished with a +11 turnover margin.
Northern Illinois will return to action on Nov. 26 for a game against Boise State.
