The Northern Illinois Huskies fell 59-57 to the Milwaukee Panthers on Monday.
Four of Milwaukee's five starters finished in double-figures to power the Panthers to a 59-57 win over Northern Illinois in DeKalb. Junior big man James Haarsma led Milwaukee with 15 points and 12 rebounds on 5-of-7 shooting. Ja'Rob McCallum added 12 points and five rebounds and Ryan Allen added 10 points and six rebounds in the win for the Panthers. The win improves Milwaukee to 0-2.
NIU falls to 0-2 with the loss. The Huskies were led by senior forward Tim Tolem, who finished with a team-high 11 points and five rebounds. Guard Zach Miller came off the bench to finish with nine points and add three rebounds for Northern Illinois.

Northern Illinois was 20 of 54 (37 percent) and Wisconsin-Milwaukee 20 of 55 (36.4). The Huskies committed 23 turnovers and the Panthers 15.
Next up for Northern Illinois is a road game at Iowa on Thursday.
