The last two Stanley Cup Champs met on Saturday at the United Center with the most recent winner, the Bruins, winning the matchup 3-2 in a shootout.

Bryan Bickell got the Hawks on the board late in the first period scoring a sweet goal on a breakaway. Chris Kelly tied things up in the second period for the Bruins on a short-handed goal.

The Hawks would take the lead a few minutes later when Patrick Kane lit the lamp. The lead wouldn’t last as Boston tied things up in the third on a goal by Nathan Horton.

Both teams would go scoreless in the five minute overtime and Boston would win 1-0 in the shootout to get the victory. The Hawks are now 2-1-1 on the young season.

Each teams goaltenders were very solid in net. Corey Crawford made 35 saves for the Hawks while Tim Thomas made 27 saves for the Bruins.

The Hawks will next play on Tuesday evening in Phoenix.
