Bob Probert, Former Blackhawk, Dead At 45

Blackhawks fans remember Bob Probert as a fighter and enforcer who was at first a member of their fiercest rival, the Red Wings, and then for the second half of his career for the Hawks during one of the down periods in their history in the late 1990’s. He piled up 3300 penalty minutes in a 16-season NHL career.

It was reported today that Probert collapsed on his boat, and later tweeted by George Malik that CKLW Radio in Windsor, Ontario reported that Probert had died.

Probert was also briefly a member of the Blackhawks’ radio team. He was 45 years old. Condolences to his friends and family.
